Your horse’s well-being is our top priority, and we are dedicated to providing thorough and proactive care. We offer all core and risk-based vaccinations, along with both in-house and send-out blood work and laboratory tests. Wellness exams are conducted during each horse’s annual rabies vaccination. Comprehensive physical exams encompass blood tests, fecal analysis, ophthalmic exams, and personalized nutrition consultations.

Fecal egg counts and deworming
Performing fecal samples helps us determine who is a high shedder, who is a low shedder, and who responds adequately to our dewormers. We recommend rechecking the fecal of high shedders 2 weeks after deworming. If the recheck fecal comes back still significantly positive, we would consider a different dewormer to target that horse’s particular population of parasites (parasite populations can become resistant to certain dewormers).
We recommend running fecal egg counts twice yearly in the spring and fall months.
Ophthalmology
When it comes to your horse’s eyes, it is always best to air on the side of caution and treat promptly and appropriately. If you notice swelling, tearing, cloudiness or discoloration, squinting, spooking or photophobia that may be a sign of injury or ocular disorder. Call our office to get doctor recommendations prior to administering any medications.
Common ocular conditions include: corneal ulcers, conjunctivitis, cataracts, uveitis, glaucoma, squamous cell carcinoma
We have an iCare Tonovet which we can use in the field to measure intraocular pressure to aid in the diagnosis of uveitis or glaucoma.
